About Us.
STEM River was founded by two scientists - both moms, friends and colleagues who have 30+ years of collective experience in the world of higher education teaching introductory data science in the world of physics. The founders have educated thousands of students using data science before it was cool.
Michelle Arnold is a nuclear medical physicist and professor who was on a school board for a charter school for 10 years. She spends her free time training dogs to do extraordinary things too!
Kristin Rabosky is a materials scientist and professor. Kristin knows the workforce development needed as she worked in industry before moving into academics. When she isn’t creating data through experiments, she’s playing in the outdoors collecting as much natural data as possible.
Over the years, the founders have watched substantial changes in technology in the classroom and technology at home and it’s impacts; both opportunities and pitfalls. Both founders believe in the importance of education in the world of understanding data and how it is used to help the citizens of the world achieve greater heights in their lives and careers and navigate the new, exciting, and sometimes challenging landscape of technology.
